The use of thermal imaging in recent years has increased in the field of medicine and exercise physiology, as an applied tool for diagnosis, testing, and monitoring. The goal of his research is to examine the thigh skin surface temperature change, following a short, high intensity exercise and compare the experimental data with that obtained from a computer simulation of the thigh model. 16 young and trained subjects will perform the 30 seconds Wingate anaerobic test while thermal images are taken from the thigh muscle, chest, and head, before, immediately after and during a 15-min recovery period. Analyses will examine the effect of high intensity short-term exercise on the surface temperature as well as the temperature distribution (entropy). The computer simulation will shed light on other parameters which cannot be tested in the lab.
